Eden Hazard insists he wouldn’t be guaranteed a starting spot in the Real Madrid team if the Chelsea star completed a move to The Bernabeu.
The Belgium international has been linked with a £100m move to Real Madrid in recent weeks after another impressive campaign in the Premier League.
Hazard scored 16 times and made five assists in the 2016-17 season to help Chelsea win their second Premier League title in three seasons.
The Blues forward has won two Premier League crowns, two League Cups and the Europa League during a five-season stay at Stamford Bridge so far.
Real Madrid won their 12th European Cup and third Champions League title in four seasons on Saturday evening thanks to a 4-1 win against Serie A giants Juventus.
Bale, who moved to los Blancos from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, was a second-half substitute after failing to secure a place in Zinedine Zidane’s starting XI.
And Chelsea No10 Hazard warned that he wouldn’t be guaranteed a starting place even if he completed a big-money move to Real Madrid.
Asked whether Hazard felt that he could play in the Real Madrid team watching the Champions League final, the Chelsea star told Het Laatste Nieuws:
“But if I would ever join Real Madrid, I could end up on the bench too. I just want the best solution for myself.”
